Rich email templates in Microsoft Dynamics 365 (CRM)

DocumentsCorePack (DCP) for Microsoft Dynamics 365 (CRM) enables you to define rich Dynamics 365 (CRM) eMail templates in Microsoft Word, bypassing the limitations of native Dynamics 365/CRM eMail templates. This enables DCP users to customize their email content with only a few clicks. All design options known form Microsoft Word can be used in the templates.

This article outlines how to create such an email that contains an individual template.

Please note: Adding actual templates to emails requires that you have already created some templates in DocumentsCorePack. If you have not created a template yet, please have a look at this article.

1) Create a new eMail in Microsoft Dynamics 365 (CRM).
(You could as well use an existing email, as long as it is an outgoing one.)
Next, click on the [Create document]-button in the Command bar.

2) In the next window, select the record for which you would like to select a template.
The available records are TO, CC and REGARDING.

3) Select a template from the list of previously created templates. (here: Gift Certificate)

4) Your eMail appears now in the design of the template and can be customized as if you were working with a template only.
